About Us

At The Product Bus, we help startup founders stop guessing and start knowing. Through hands-on programs, consulting, and coaching, we guide entrepreneurs from idea validation through MVP development to market launch and beyond.

We’re a small, growing team based in South Yarra with deep connections across Melbourne’s startup ecosystem. Right now, we’re working on a new digital product designed to help even more founders succeed, and we need sharp, curious interns to help us bring it to market.

The Role

We’re hiring 1–2 interns for 12 weeks, working two days per week on-site in our South Yarra office. (Located right next to South Yarra Station)

We’re open to:

  • One versatile all-rounder with a mix of skills, OR
  • Two interns with complementary strengths (e.g., one focused on content and community, one on research and analysis)

Your work will directly support our work on an exciting new digital product through market research, content creation, data analysis, and community engagement. You’ll get real exposure to how startups validate ideas, build products, and go to market – because that’s literally what we teach.

What You’ll Do

Depending on your skills and interests, you may:

  • Research target markets, competitors, and customer segments
  • Collect and analyse data to inform product decisions
  • Create content: blogs, social posts, newsletters, and product launch materials
  • Develop content and resources for our new digital platform
  • Capture insights from founder workshops and programs
  • Support community engagement across Slack, LinkedIn, and events
  • Help organise and run online and in-person events
  • Prepare reports, slide decks, and go-to-market materials

What We’re Looking For

We want students or recent graduates who:

  • Enjoy talking to humans – this is a non-negotiable – we’re obsessed with understanding and serving founders and the people who support them
  • Have strong skills in 2+ areas like marketing, content creation, community building, business analysis, research, or customer success – we’re still in our early stages of growth so Swiss Army Knives are preferred over a precision tool!
  • Are genuinely curious about startups, founders, and how products come to life
  • Can work independently and take initiative (we’re a small team – you’ll have real responsibility)
  • Are comfortable with tools like Notion, Google Workspace, Canva, and LinkedIn
  • Can commit to 2 days per week, on-site in South Yarra, for 12 weeks

What You’ll Get

  • $25–$35/hr as a casual employee (rate depends on experience)
  • Real startup experience working inside a consultancy that supports founders daily
  • Portfolio-worthy work: content, research reports, and product launch contributions you can showcase
  • Direct mentorship from our experienced team of product and program leaders
  • Networking access to Melbourne’s startup community—founders, investors, and ecosystem partners
  • Potential pathway to ongoing work after the internship based on performance and business needs
